Thank Your for your Support this past Year Step 5: Remove the 6 retainer bolts holding the planetary case onto the bearing housing and remove the case from the bearing housing. There are 6 little springs under the engagement lever, be sure not to damage or loose them! Step 6: Remove the plastic bushings / bearings from the bearing housing and inspect them. One of mine was partially crushed, so they got replaced. For about $4 each from Summit Racing it was a cheap fix. Step 7: Inspect everything. Make sure that no gears are chipped or worn. Clean all of the old grease out. Ramsey recommends a Lithium based grease for their winches. Everything looked good with the gears and engagement lever mechanism on this one. After finishing cleaning and painting all of the parts, a copious amount of grease was smeared all over everything, and then the planetary was reassembled.
