Free 1 Year Anniversary Special Edition Tech Talk By The Vermont Jeepgirl Easy Upgrade ~ Keep Debris Out of your Axle Tubes It’s not all fun and games when dirt, mud, rocks or small mammals creep their way into your axle tubes! I should know as the first time I had to take my front axle apart to clean out the gunk that collected over a couple seasons. It was not a pretty site when the gear oil looked just like moms chocolate pudding. I began my research to see if there was a way to keep all the debris from creeping into my front axle tubes. The 87-06 Jeep Wrangler, 84-01 (XJ) Cherokees, and 93-98 ZJ Grand Cherokees Dana 30/44 axle tubes have a design pretty much open for things to seep into the axle tubes and destroy your inner axle seals. I found that Alloy USA’s Axle Tube Seals claimed to keep water, mud and debris from entering the front axle housing. They looked like an easy install and I was willing to try them out. A quick phone call to CSE Offroad at www. cseoffroad.com and a pair of Part #11103 Alloy USA Performance Axle Tube Seals were on their way! 34 April 2014
