The first day of Spring and the start of The Mint 400 race events with this year’ s expansion from Fremont Street to the Strip. It began with a first-ever parade of 80 off-road vehicles along Las Vegas Boulevard from Circus Circus to Mandalay Bay. The kick-off party was at Hussong’ s Cantina at Mandalay Place.
The highlight of the day was the General Tire-sponsored Miss Mint 400 beauty pageant and Crowning. The“ Best in the Desert” held qualifying on this day as well. Just North of Las Vegas, the 4-mile loop seen Rob MacCachren and Bryce Menzies qualifying as the Top two. Saturday, Race day, started at 6 a. m. to 10 p. m. and Sunday’ s events wrapped up with the awards brunch
