AWB’ s Morgan Irwin Named Co-Chair of Washington Workforce Board location: Seattle
Morgan Irwin, vice president of government affairs at AWB, was appointed by Gov. Bob Ferguson in February to co-chair the Washington Workforce Board. Irwin will represent the business community on the board, the lead policy agency for the state’ s workforce development system and investments.
Irwin joins April Sims, president of the Washington State Labor Council, who will represent labor, as a new co-chair. As non-voting co-chairs, Sims and Irwin will help shape discussions, elevate stakeholder perspectives, and align the board’ s work with Washington’ s workforce and economic priorities.
“ Washington employers need a skilled, trained and educated workforce in order to succeed, and young people need clear pathways to jobs that fulfill them,” Irwin said.“ I’ m excited to partner with leaders from the public and private sectors to unlock Washington’ s full economic potential.”
Irwin succeeds Gary Chandler, former vice president of government affairs at AWB, as the board’ s business co-chair.
