AWB ’ s Evening of Excellence made a comeback in November with an in-person gala at the Greater Tacoma Convention Center . The event also allowed guests to watch the program online as part of AWB ’ s new hybrid events model . Employers are improving Washington ’ s quality of life by investing in their employees , supporting community health and maintaining family businesses .

Nominations for the 2022 Washington Excellence Awards are now open .
Washington employers received a well-earned thank you in November at AWB ’ s Evening of Excellence , sponsored by Banner Bank . Nine employers were honored for their outstanding work during an incredibly challenging time . Employers provided hundreds of thousands of vaccinations , improved recycling practices , trained new health care workers and made payroll during the worst of the pandemic .
About 200 guests came together for a socially distanced gala at the Greater Tacoma Convention Center , with more guests watching the program online . A string quartet , reception , dinner and dessert offered a welcome break for many .
AWB President Kris Johnson thanked employers for their efforts to lead the state out of the pandemic .
“ Last year was about reacting to a historic challenge , and survival ,” Johnson told the crowd . “ This year is about the vaccine rollout and building a lasting and enduring economic recovery . And once again you in this room have delivered beyond expectations .”
