AWB Launches New Website to Meet Digital Needs of Employers
AWB launched an all-new website in late August to better serve the needs of employers in the digital era .
The new site , still at www . awb . org , makes it easier to find information thanks to improved search capabilities . It also streamlines information delivery and the design reflects the updated look and feel of the AWB brand .
The new homepage is a showcase of news , events , videos and employer resources . The site also meets ADA design guidelines and is fully optimized for mobile devices .
Washington Workforce Portal Launches with Pilot Efforts in Spokane , Tri-Cities
The AWB Institute joined with partners in Spokane and the Tri-Cities this fall to launch a pilot project aimed at connecting employers and students .
Greater Spokane Inc . ( GSI ) is helping to pilot the Washington Workforce Portal in the Spokane region and the Tri-City Regional Chamber of Commerce is another early partner in the project .
The web portal will enable local communities to show students the depth and variety of career opportunities available to them .
“ Up and coming graduates are always wondering , ‘ What is the value of Spokane ? Are there actual good jobs here ?’” said Cassidy Peterson , director of education and talent at GSI . At the same time , Peterson said she hears from employers who aren ’ t seeing the talent pool they need . “ So to provide this workforce experience to students locally — it connects them to employers in a real-world way .”
AWB ’ s Tommy Gantz wins Next Gen Leadership Award from Aerospace Futures Alliance
Tommy Gantz , AWB government affairs director for tax and fiscal policy , has won a Next Generation Leadership Award from the Aerospace Futures Alliance .
The award recognizes outstanding and emerging leaders in Washington state ’ s aerospace community . Recipients are early in their aerospace careers but have already demonstrated initiative , accountability and passion for the industry .
Gantz led AWB ’ s work to coordinate manufacturers during their pivot to PPE production during the early days of the pandemic . She has worked in the aerospace industry and has a number of leadership positions in the aerospace industry .
