Policy Summit Adds New Federal Focus All-New App Adds to AWB Events
The 28th annual AWB Policy Summit
included an expanded focus on
federal issues, and even expanded
to a continental perspective, thanks
to a discussion with the consuls from
Canada and Mexico. Policy Summit
was held at Suncadia Resort, even as
firefighters battled the Jolly Mountain
Fire a few miles away. Just in time for Policy Summit and a busy slate
of autumn events, AWB unveiled an all-new
smartphone and tablet app this summer. The
free app offers new ways to engage with event
speakers, panelists and other attendees.
Attendees heard from keynote
speaker Carly Fiorina, the former
CEO of Hewlitt-Packard and a 2016
presidential candidate, who spoke on
leadership and service.
The federal issues focus included
addresses from U.S. Sens. Maria
Cantwell and Patty Murray, U.S. Rep.
Denny Heck and a video welcome
from U.S. Rep. Dave Reichert.
Futurist and bestselling author Jacob
Morgan talked about building more
collaborative organizations and
winning the war for talent.
Windermere Chief Economist
Matthew Gardner took a big-picture
look at the economy. There were dozens of other speakers and discussions, covering
education, competitiveness and much more.
Save the date for this year’s Policy Summit, Sept. 18-20, 2018.
From instant audience polling and an attendee
social networking function to venue maps and WiFi
passwords, the app will make AWB events more
engaging and easier to navigate.
AWB worked with Eventsential, which has created
apps for groups like the National Association of
Manufacturers, the Council on State Taxation and
the national PTA.
Download the free app by searching for “AWB
Events 365” in your app store.
AWB is Washington state’s chamber
of commerce and one of just four
state chambers in the country to be
“accredited with distinction” by the U.S.
Chamber of Commerce.
