For more than 50 years, Battelle researchers working at the Department of Energy’ s Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in Richland have pushed the boundaries of science. Moved technologies to market. Reshaped the way we work and live. Our innovations have led to more fuel-efficient cars. Safer airports and borders. An electric power grid that is more reliable and efficient. And much more— all part of an effort to make our nation more secure and prosperous.
Throughout the years, Battelle also has been active, investing heavily in philanthropy, the arts and most of all— education. Collaborating with others, Battelle has connected with thousands of educators and the students they impact across Washington. Together, we have informed new education standards in science and computer science for Washington. And, created exemplary programs that foster best practices in STEM education approaches at local, regional and national levels.
