AWB Communications Team Honored with Multiple Awards
AWB’s Grow Here employer image advertising campaign was named a finalist in PR News’
Platinum PR Awards competition, alongside international campaigns from some of the top
global brands and public relations firms.
Grow Here is AWB’s ongoing initiative to tell the stories of Washington employers and
how they are improving lives and strengthening communities. The announcement, made
in late July, recognized the 2017 version, which highlighted the work of AWB-member
companies Alaffia, M3 Biotechnology and The McGregor Company. The contest winner
will be announced in New York in September.
The announcement came after AWB’s communicators earned 12 honors in this year’s
Hermes Creative Awards, and after Brian Temple — AWB’s videographer and digital media
coordinator — won two awards in the 22nd-annual Videographer Awards.
The Hermes Creative Awards recognized outstanding visual, video and written content,
as well as publications like the Annual Report.
The awards covered videos on Manufacturing Week, an article on what it’s really like to
run a small business and a photo of last fall’s manufacturing tour.
“It’s always gratifying to receive this kind of validation for your work,” said Jason Hagey,
AWB vice president, communications. “We are fortunate not only to have a talented, hard-
working team here at AWB that strives every day to tell our members’ stories, but also to
work with some really outstanding partners.”
