Remodeled AWB Office Builds on New Mission and Vision

AWB finished up a remodel that puts into physical form the association’s new Mission, Vision
and strategies. A state-of-the-art conference center is at the heart of the remodel, furthering
AWB’s goal of being the state’s catalytic leader, bringing together employers and policymakers.
Visitors to AWB’s offices in Olympia today will see a fresh, modern look,
from the new logo on the wall to the sweep of the front desk and impressive
photos of Washington employers on the walls. But a closer examination of
AWB’s newly completed remodel will see careful thought and intention
behind the upgrades.
State-of-the-art teleconferencing audio-video systems will enable our
members to be part of the conversation in Olympia without the drive down
I-5 or across the mountains.
An easily customizable meeting space is available for AWB members,
policymakers and other leaders to gather — the physical manifestation of
AWB’s goal of being a solutions-ori ented convener and catalytic leader.
Even the decor in the remodel reflects AWB’s pillar of “Place” — full-wall
pictures celebrating the diverse communities, regions and employers of
Washington.
“We wanted to reflect AWB’s new brand, mission and vision as we
refreshed the premises,” said AWB Finance Director Greg Welch. “And
we wanted to utilize state-of-the-art technology to enable easy member
engagement.”
Two years of planning turned into three months of construction from
November to January.
Energy Northwest held a three-day board meeting at AWB in late January
to inaugurate the remodel, with board members from across the state
attending in person or joining by teleconference. This visit by AWB’s 2016
Employer of the Year was a fitting start to a new day for AWB in a building
redesigned to fit our new mission and vision.
