Advanced Training in Everett
AMTEC is celebrating a decade of supporting the manufacturing pipeline while equipping students for great jobs at Snohomish County ’ s 200-plus manufacturers .

The Advanced Manufacturing Training and Education Center at Everett Community College is a unique 54,000-square-foot state-of-the-art training center where students learn the latest manufacturing technologies .
At A Glance
AMTEC opened in October 2014 in a former big box store . The goal was to provide the latest in technological training , in cooperation with employers , to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world work applications .
To help students prepare for life after the classroom , AMTEC brings students into the full cycle of production , teaching them practical skills to go from idea generation to design of products , manufacturing and testing .
AMTEC ’ s on-site employment facilitators work directly with students and employers to place graduates into aerospace , maritime , machining , energy production and other regional employers .
Gabe Anderson , 19 , holds a medallion he made for members of his drum corps at AMTEC using a water jet . He is studying welding at Everett Community College and its AMTEC facility to learn a high-paying skill with which he can earn enough money to study music at the University of Washington .
Students learn skills in the latest advanced manufacturing technologies , such as precision machining , mechatronics , engineering technology , composites technology , welding and fabrication .
EVERETT — Gabe Anderson wants to teach and make music . The path to his dreams runs through advanced manufacturing .
“ I ’ d like to get a job that provides enough money for me to go to a university comfortably ,” Anderson said .
And so , this 19-year-old is planning out an early career in welding . He ’ s getting his certification at Everett Community College and its Advanced Manufacturing Training and Education Center .
