Warriors

A Warrior is a cat who has been trained by a mentor and can hunt and fight. They have also passed their Warriors assessments. The Warriors make up the bulk of the Clan and protect the Elderly, nursing Queens, and their Kits. Almost every cat in the Clan has been or will be a Warriors, excluding the medicine cats. A nursing Queen is a Warriors, she just gives up her Warriors duties until her Kits are Apprenticed. Also, Elders are retired Warriors, with rusty fighting skill, relying on the Warriors to defend them. When an Apprentice is promoted to a Warriors, their name suffix changes to something to do with nature or an animal body feature. For example, Dovewing, Lionblaze, Sandstorm, and Ivypool.

Warriors also have many tasks. For example, they need to provide security and safety. To accomplish this, they patrol the territory boundaries, and if they find trespassers, they chase them out. They also are in charge of camp security. To do this, they always have a constant guard, and prepared alert others and fight to protect the camp if the Clan is in danger. They also participate in hunting patrols. Something important to note is that Warriors must give what they take. This means if they do not catch prey for the Clan one day, they may not eat that day and must go back out hunting before they could eat. The same rule applies when you do hunt. If you eat more than you caught, you must go back and hunt before eating any more. The most important task is to train Apprentices, the future of the Clan.

Senior Warriors are Warriors that could be Elders, but also would be a bit young to retire. Often times they are consulted with the younger Warriors, are chosen to lead patrols, and participate with the leader in selecting a new deputy. They are also often asked by the leader for wisdom or other help. They sleep in the middle of the Warriors den, where it is the warmest.

Queens

A Queen is a cat that is expecting or has Kits. They are known to be overly-protective of Kits and are known also to be compassionate. They give birth to Kits; hence, the reason why they are so important- they help the Clan continue going. If a Queen decides not to give the father’s name, it is her choice. Queens are usually in the nursery for up to 9 moons and have food delivered to them by the Warriors.

Elder

Elders are the oldest cats in the Clan, often also considered to have the most wisdom out of everyone because of their old age. They are also noted to be cranky and annoyed by Kits, although they seem to like playing with Kits.

In the Clan life, Elders don’t really have a real role to help out, instead resting at camp all day (unless they wish to go and hunt or walk), and talking to each other about the ‘good old days’. Next, Elders also pass on stories about great cats and battles that happened during their generation, so that Kits and Apprentices will always carry on these cats great deeds. Lastly, the only duty they must perform is if a Clan mate dies, they are responsible alongside that cat’s family to clean it, then they mourn for the night. In the morning, the Elders carry the body to it’s final resting spot. Like humans, the Elders den more or less is like an Elderly home ensuring that in every part of the cat’s life, especially the end is peaceful.
