Poverty affects me
I have always held the perspective of poverty being the biggest social issue for humanity. I can recall being a young child and viewing this poor woman sitting on the sidewalk with cloths and rags while I was roaming the streets of Manhattan with my parents. Despite my age I vowed to dedicate my life to helping the underprivileged in America and around the world. “Corey”
I feel that poverty is not something that can be erased, but it can be helped. One time, I met a homeless man. I shook his hand, but my mom told me not to touch him. I was small, so I hadn’t even realized he was homeless. Poverty is hard to avoid and it’s the dark side of our country that we don’t like to see or show. “Hashim”
Poverty is a topic i have known about since I was a kid, I never understood why so many people lived in such a horriable way. I thought that they did something terriable and got what they deserved but most havent done anything close to live this life "Jose"
