It ’ s been a busy theater season for Prashanti : She appeared in BCT ’ s “ Almost , Maine ” and Culture Collective ’ s “ Vagina Monologues ,” and is now rehearsing BCT ’ S “ Midsummer Night ’ s Dream ” and “ Vagina Monologues .” Originally from Bangalore , India , and in Bangkok since 2014 , she loves the way theater brings people together to create new worlds : “ It teaches both the performer and the audience the art of empathy ,” she says .
� CELIA
Celia is a musician and ethnomusicologist originally from a small town in Minnesota , USA . She ’ s been active with the BCT since arriving in 2014 , and this spring appears in both “ The Vagina Monologues ” and “ A Midsummer Night ’ s Dream .” Celia says “ acting is a very personal thing . You explore a character with the filter of your own feelings and experiences ; it ’ s easier to share them with the world when you are wearing the mask of someone else .”
� SEA
Born and raised in Bangkok but educated in the U . K ., Sea currently appears in “ Lod Lai Mungkorn , the Musical ” at Muangthai Rachadalai theatre and produced “ Almost , Maine ” for BCT . “ Theatre connects me to people , to storytelling , and to my hopes and dreams ,” she says . “ It ’ s liberating to explore different sides of human behavior in the characters that I play and not knowing what ’ s coming up , as every performance is so fresh and different .”
� MELISSA
Melissa trained as a New York theater actress and has worked on some of America ’ s longest-running TV shows , including “ Law & Order .” In Thailand since 2014 , she was seen in “ Almost , Maine ” for Bangkok Community Theater and appears this month in BCT ’ s “ Vagina Monologues .” She loves working on film , but says “ there ’ s an intensity I feel doing live theater that is unlike anything else .”
