Indeed. Not to mention the obsta-
cle course that is navigating Bangkok
traffic with a car. Unlike some coun-
tries in the West, where supermarkets
are relatively easy to access, it’s not
always so simple in Bangkok. While
many grocery stores are nestled in
the basements of malls, others are
perched along some of the city’s bus-
iest stretches, so a “quick trip to the
shop” is generally out of the question.
Parking, too, becomes a task all of its
own with limited spaces available.
And with so many of us choosing to
conduct our weekly shop during the
weekends, a simple household activ-
ity is suddenly several hours stripped
from our limited free time.
According to Bounthay, the Big
Mango is ripe for honestbee. And re-
action to the service since its official
launch in March suggests it’s set to
change the way Bangkokians shop for
good. “We are exceeding our direct
competitors and catching up to ma-
jor supermarkets in terms of volume.
At any given time, we have around
20 shopper bees fulfilling orders.”
In just two months, honestbee
has conquered Bangkok, but they’re
not stopping there. Plans are afoot
to penetrate the outskirts of the city
by the end of June, and all remain-
ing urban cities and hubs throughout
the rest of Thailand by the end of the
year. Plus, the company is currently in
talks to onboard a further 50 stores
and supermarkets, a move which
will increase their product offering
exponentially.
Now that’s something to be
buzzed about.
