RIM PHAE, RAYONG
Two hours south of the city, just a little further than
popular Pattaya, sits Rayong province. Home to beautiful
beaches, stunning scenery and plenty of fun for the kids,
many choose Rayong City as a base. Others will head to
the sandier shores of Rim Phae beach, where the Rayong
Aquarium is within easy reach and tropical Koh Samet —
with its fine stretch of beachside restaurants and re-
sorts — is just a twenty-minute speedboat trip away.
Stay at the Rayong Marriott Resort and Spa — com-
plete with waterslides, a kids’ club, aquarium, and under-
water music in the pool — to ensure the little ones are
kept entertained while mom and dad get some well-de-
served rest. Family room rates start at 4000 THB per night.
Getting there
Take an inexpensive bus from Ekkamai’s eastern bus ter-
minal or, for a comfier journey down, hire a taxi for ap-
proximately 1500 THB per way.
Rayong is a family-friendly beach
destination not far from Bangkok
