If your child is still in nappies but able
to walk, pull-ups are the way to go on
the plane. While most planes do have
changing tables, the space allocat-
ed is not exactly generous, making
standing nappy changes a much eas-
ier and quicker option.
Surprisingly, there is no scientif-
ic evidence to suggest sugar makes
children hyper. However, it is true
that sugary snacks tend not to con-
tain much protein or good fat, lead-
ing to sharp spikes in energy soon
followed by returning hunger pains.
To keep hunger-crankiness at bay,
opt for whole food snacks that in-
clude some healthy fats and or pro-
tein, such as apple slices with nat-
ural peanut butter or veggie sticks
with hummus. Bring more than you
think you’ll need, just in case the in-
flight meal service isn’t particularly
appealing.
