as well as a Saturday Storytime,
held every weekend from

costs 50 THB and a full year’s
membership at 3,000 THB allows

Tucked away on the Bangkok
Art and Culture Center’s ground
floor, the Art Library is a spot to
enjoy some quiet reading time.
Though not particularly artsy,
this free-to-enter space does of-
fer public computers, contempo-
rary books on art and design, and
a kid’s corner.
If your quest for the “right book” has
so far been fruitless, take solace in
the notion that your child’s school is
often doing all it can to help.
Harrow International School, for ex-
ample, has recently opened a brand-
new lower-school library, part of the
school’s push to nurture a love of read-
ing among its students from a young
age. The library is in a central location
on the campus and gives pupils direct
access to a well-stocked resource.
According to Alex Costa, deputy
head of the lower school, reading is
fundamental to everything Harrow
does. The school has emphasized its
relationship with reading in recent
years, and staff are are also making
efforts to engage parents in the pro-
cess by holding workshops on the
technical aspects of reading and the
importance of making time for it.
