INTERNATIONAL SEAPLANE FLY-IN Greenville is bustling in September for the International Seaplane Fly-In. Watch as hundreds of planes take off and land on Moosehead Lake, competing in various categories for prizes.
KENDUSKEAG STREAM CANOE RACE One of New England’ s largest paddling events for over 50 years, the Kenduskeag Stream Canoe Race is as much fun to watch as it is to participate in! On the third weekend in April, about 1,000 paddlers start in the town of Kenduskeag and race 16.5 miles downstream through rapids to Bangor. Many teams dress up in costumes, and many more end up tipping over into the frigid water.
