This last issue of 2022 like the four before it covers a lot of ground . Over the last two years we have come to love and appreciate rural Loudoun — it ’ s stunning beauty , deep history , and the importance of preserving its rural character and farm-based enterprises . Without local farms , farmers , agripreneurs , wineries , breweries , B & Bs , nonprofits and easement holders , Loudoun would look very different . We are grateful to be able to tell the remarkable stories of this treasured area .
Thanks to the passionate stakeholder writers , photographers , volunteer distributors , advisers and the wonderful advertisers who make this free publication possible , WANDER is truly a community collaboration . And most importantly , thank you , our readers . We hear many of you read WANDER cover-to-cover , keep it on your coffee tables and even collect the issues . No greater testament to its viability is needed .
Going forward , in order to maintain the print quality and the look and feel of WANDER , a 501 ( c ) 3 nonprofit called “ Friends of Wander Magazine ” has been created . It ’ s specific purpose is to ensure the continuation of WANDER by helping to fund its printing costs which continue to increase substantially . For those who appreciateWANDER , it ’ s simply a way to help and geta tax benefit . If interested please contact : FriendsofWander @ yahoo . com .
We wish all of you a bountiful year ’ s end and a healthy , peaceful and prosperous 2023 ! Please be in touch with what you ’ d like to see covered in the future . Until then …
All best wishes , Jane Perini and Wib Middleton
