I want to turn the clock back to when people lived in small villages and took care of each other . ~ Pete Seeger
S tarting in the early 1700s , there were many bustling villages throughout what would become Loudoun County in 1751 . Only a dozen or so remain that have kept their historical charm and well preserved buildings ; unfortunately , many are a distant memory . Some of our villages are fortunate enough to be on the National Register of Historic Places , the Virginia Landmarks Register and have other significant designations , including Lucketts and Waterford . The Loudoun Historic Village Alliance ’ s mission is to continue working to preserve the heritage of our villages for generations to enjoy . We hope you enjoy the ongoing series of stories told from their residents ’ point of view .
