Stap Dairy , a multigenerational dairy farm family located in Pine Bush is farmed by the Stap family ; Bob , Stacey , Liz , Cassie , Becky and Garrett . In 1984 , Bob started dairy farming and then the family purchased their current farm which consists of 150 acres and began milking in this facility on April 21 , 2005 , where they milk 90 + Holsteins in the conventional free stall and parlor set up . For their cropping needs they rent 400 additional acres nearby . In the beginning of 2018 , Stap ’ s attached a processing plant to their main barn . This past June was the grand opening for their cream-line pasteurized milk . It is set up so the consumers can purchase milk and view the processing plant .

they should just have the plan together and be able to implement the plan .”
A proposed 20,000 square foot retail development near the Stewart ’ s convenience store could benefit from the traffic that would stream from the repaired bridge onto Rt . 52 . The village had previously been informed by the town that the out-of-commission span was not a hardship for local residents . “ The contention was that it was the

includes a substantial number of wetlands that still need to be delineated .
“ Sometimes we get preliminary site plans and then the actual site plans look different ,” planning board member Sophia Romano said .
The industrial access road opens onto Route 211 across from Chandler Lane . The senior access road passes the car wash onto 211 .
Most commercial buildings have a maximum height of 35 feet , although the senior overlay allows for 40 feet . The parcel lies in an airport flight path , so planning board Chair Kevin Conero said he is unsure whether that would restrict the maximum height . Several residents expressed concerns about the project . The senior overlay allows the setbacks from the property line to be reduced for side and rear yards from 50 to five feet . A setback is the minimum distance from the property line a building is required to be placed . Montgomery resident Brandan Rabb owns a property that borders the proposed project and expressed concern about the setback .
“ Basically , the building parking lot can be right there , with people coming and going from work staring at my kids playing in the pool ,” Raab said .
Conero said the industrial parcels would still require a minimum 50-foot setback . The planning board can bridge to nowhere and we didn ’ t need it in the village , that it wasn ’ t a hardship ,” Walden Mayor Susan Rumbold noted during last Tuesday ’ s board meeting . “ But that business originally listed the flow of traffic from that bridge from bottlenecking Rt . 52 in that area .”
There is currently no time frame to fix or replace the Hill Street Bridge , but Walden is anticipating that the project will move forward . “ Hopefully that work will be done soon . It ’ s been a nag on all of us ,” Revella told the board .
Montgomery eyes senior / warehouse project
request a larger setback for the senior housing , but the board can ’ t require it .
Montgomery Mayor Stephen Brescia assured the public the warehouses would be kept as far away from the residential properties as possible . Projects are usually required to be screened with fences or trees from neighboring properties .
Several residents said the applicant surveyed properties on Weaver Street , crossing into resident ’ s properties . The board said the applicant had no permission to do so .
Montgomery resident John Reale expressed concern about the project ’ s impact on wildlife .
“ I would like to know that there could be some way that these animals , each and every one of them , could be protected so they wouldn ’ t have to find another habitat ,” Reale said .
Several residents asked about the hours of operation for the business . Dowd replied that the planning board can regulate land uses , but they can ’ t regulate internal operations , including hours of operation .
The project was first presented to the planning board at the last regularly scheduled meeting on Sept . 26 . The project is still in its infancy , requiring many more steps until final approval . The project will be discussed at the next village planning board meeting on Oct . 24 .
