4 Wallkill Valley Times, Wednesday, May 8, 2019 B riefs Montgomery Town Board considers Medlin water and sewer connections The Montgomery town board will consider extending town water and sewer lines to the proposed Medline project on NYS Route 416. Larry Wolinsky, attorney with Jacobowitz and Gubits, LLP, approached the town board at a meeting on May 2 to request a 4,300-square-foot extension of the Neelytown West Water District and 4,000-square-foot Sewer District Number One to the proposed project. Medline Industries, Inc. has proposed a 1.3-million- square-foot facility for offices, shipping and receiving, and warehouse storage on the east side of NYS Route 416 and north of Interstate 84. Wolinsky said the approximately $1 million extensions will come at no cost to the town. “There is no expenditure that will be incurred by the town as a result of these requests,” Wolinsky said. “Everything of a capital nature is paid for by the petitioner, in this case Medline Industries.” Wolinsky said the extension will encompass only the Medline project and no other properties. Project developers have already prepared the engineering studies and the town is currently reviewing them. The town board can’t make any decisions until the planning board has completed the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA) process. The public hearing for the water and sewer extensions will be at town hall on July 11 at 7 p.m. Girl, 16 charged with making threat A 16-year-old female Wallkill High School student was charged with making a terroristic threat on May 1.
