Located near Interstate-84 (I-84) and the intersections of NYS Route 17K and 747, the project will turn 188 acres of vacant land into an approximately 1-million-square-foot warehouse with more than 1,000 car parking spaces and 225 truck trailer spaces, according to planning board documents. The project also incudes a wastewater treatment plant for sanitary wastewater, a water treatment facility and water tank, stormwater management basins, accessory driveways, lighting, landscaping and signage. The project requires a zoning map Continued on page 5 Montgomery horse farm awarded $2 million grant The Orange County Land Trust has been awarded a NYS Farmland Implementation Program Grant to protect a 152-acre farm in the Town of Montgomery. Willow Hill Farm is located on a bend in the Wallkill River off of Route 211. This grant will allow the Land Trust to work with the farm’s owners to purchase a conservation easement that will protect the property for agricultural use. The easement will also help protect the water quality of the Wallkill River by preserving the forest along its banks. The grant award is for $2,000,000, the maximum available through this grant program. Bush man found safe First responders and the Pine Bush community at large breathed a collective sigh of relief Sunday after a man suffering from Alzheimer’s disease and reported missing a day earlier, was found safe. William Scheinert, 79, had been reported missing early Saturday. Following a massive search, he was located Sunday morning in a house under construction near the Ulster County line. “As reported, earlier today we were able to locate Mr. Scheinert,” William Scheinert Crawford Police Chief Dominick Blasko reported on Facebook. “He was transported to ORMC in good condition.” “Locating him was a team effort and we were successful because of everyone’s help,” Blasko said. “ Special thanks to the New York State Forrest Rangers, New York State Police, Orange County Sheriff’s Office, Orange County Office of Emergency Management, Pine Bush Fire-Department Pine Bush Ambulance, and numerous police, Fire and search and rescue teams.” Blasko urged residents to sign up for the CodeRED notification system and “if you have an elderly person that needs monitoring for dementia or Alzheimer, contact the Orange County Office for the Aging for Operation Life Saver.” SERVING CRAWFORD, GARDINER, MAYBROOK, MONTGOMERY, PINE BUSH, SHAWANGUNK, WALDEN AND WALLKILL
