Two workers injured in
Town of Wallkill explosion
On Feb. 12, State Police Middletown Troopers and
members of the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI)
responded to Oprandy’s Fire Equipment in the Town of
Wallkill for a report of an explosion. The responding
Troopers located two workers, Frank J. Buono, 23 of
Goshen and Christopher Foust, 35 of Warwick, in the
rear room of the building with severe leg injuries.
Troopers, along with the assistance of Town of Wallkill
officers utilized tourniquets on both victims while waiting for EMS personnel. Mr. Buono and Mr. Foust were
transported by helicopter to Westchester Medical Center
and are currently listed in serious condition.
Buono suffered a severe injury to his right leg and Foust
suffered severe injuries to both of his legs. Investigation
revealed that Foust was filling a fire extinguisher with
air when the tank ruptured, causing injuries to himself
and Buono.

The hour-long coloring program stretched into
another half hour as the women happily shared insights
and advice. “This is supposed to last an hour but we like
to linger here,” Fox said with a smile. “We get talking
and it lasts an hour and a half.”
The group meets at 1 p.m. every Wednesday. For more
information, contact the library at 744-3375.
Fox and Callan said they plan to schedule an exhibit
of the coloring pages later this year. Until then, the group
will continue their detailed masterpieces – often bringing
them home to show off in their kitchens.
“I’ll have to buy a bigger fridge,” Maria concluded.
