Montgomery to pierce tax cap , seek raises for employees

Stop work order slapped on Montgomery business

Walden residents will soon be able to stroll along refurbished sidewalks in the village after the municipality received an $ 80,000 grant to renovate the walkways on East Main Street from Highland Avenue to the Sunoco gas station . The village board passed a resolution at its Feb . 7 meeting to accept the county grant , which came through the Community Development Block Grant program . Walden originally applied for $ 125,000 in sidewalk repair funding .
The East Main Street work is expected to commence in the spring if all goes according to plan . “ The sidewalks are in desperate need of repair and it ’ s been like that for awhile ,” Walden Mayor Susan

He put a stop work order on the building on Monday , which prohibits occupation . But that was also the day the store opened , according to a man who answered the phone in the store on Tuesday .
A neighbor , Mike Young , said people continue to come and go .
