As the newly elected Chairman of the
Ulster County Legislature, Republican
Kenneth Ronk Jr. is getting his sea legs,
however, he is no stranger to the political world. He is in his fifth term, in
the Legislature, first taking his seat in
January 2008. He represents Shawangunk,
the hamlet of Wallkill and “what I call the
greater hamlet area.”
Ronk said taking the helm of the
Legislature “has been an aspiration of
mine for the
last few years.”
Ronk served two
years as Deputy

Republican
caucus
for
four

During the continuation of the public
hearing, board members reviewed various items and concerns about the project—from tracking dirt during construction onto Neelytown Road to eliminating
backup beepers as much as possible. It
was stated emphatically that the project
will not be an IDA project.
The project is expected before the
Planning Board for their work session
on Feb. 3.
The public hearing on Pavestone, LLC
(formerly known as Concrete Stone &
Tile Corp.), located on Leonards Drive,
was continued to the next Planning Board
meeting on Feb. 29 at 7:30 p.m., as items
such as the traffic study are still pending.
The board also granted new conditional final approval for the Hanover
Development project on Noelle Drive and
River Road and site plan approval to Ace
World Wide of New York, Inc. for their
parking and storage expansion on Stone
