1.3 million square foot warehouse eyed
By LAURA FITZGERALD
[email protected]
Medline Industries, Inc. has proposed
a 1.3 million-square-foot building in the
town of Montgomery, which will replace
and expand its current operation in the
town of Wawayanda.
Located on the east side of NYS Route
416 and north of Interstate I-84, the
building will contain offices, shipping and
receiving, warehouse storages and areas
for employees. The building will replace
the outgrown facility in Wawayanda,
which employs 320 workers, according
to Town of Montgomery planning board
documents.
Stacy Rubenstein, Medline public
relations manager, said Medline plans
to create more than 200 jobs in the next
five years, contributing to Medline’s
continued growth.
“[The project] will create new quality
jobs for local residents to want to
contribute to Medline’s continued growth
and help ensure healthcare organizations
in the Tri-State area receive the supplies
they need to improve the lives of patients,”
Rubenstein said.
The new facility will serve a
region including New York, New
Jersey, Connecticut and portions of
Massachusetts and Pennsylvania.
The project is expected to generate a
substantial increase in traffic. The site
will have two access driveways on NYS
Route 416 and 700 parking spaces for cars

Wallkill
Town
Center
receives
final
approval
By TED REMSNYDER
Multiple developers have long dreamt
of establishing a major residential and
commercial development in the heart
of the Wallkill hamlet. After years of
negotiations the project received final
approval on Nov. 7 by the Shawangunk
Planning Board with the hopes of getting
a shovel in the ground on the project
when the weather turns next year. Now
known as Wallkill Town Center, the
project will encompass three residential
buildings with apartment units and one
commercial property.
The Planning Board approved an
application from developer Keith Libolt
of the Professional Commercial Group
last month for a development that will
include three multiple dwelling buildings
that contain a total of 30 dwelling units.
In addition, four lots at the site on Park
Avenue and Pleasant Avenue will be
developed each with a two-family detached
dwelling, with one additional lot to be
developed for a single-family detached
