By LAURA FITZGERALD
[email protected]
Galaxy Limited presented plans for
Galaxy Montgomery North—a proposed
240,000-square-foot warehouse between
Baron and Bracken Road—to the Town of
Montgomery Planning Board on Tuesday
night.
The 33-acre parcel would include
240,000 square feet of warehouse space,
12,000 square feet of office space, 168
employee parking spaces and stormwater
management facilities, according to
planning board documents. About 9 acres
of the site will be impervious surfaces.
The property is the northernmost
property on the 754-acre Galaxy Limited
Holdings site and the only parcel north
of Interstate 84. The interstate marks the
southern boundary of the site.
Ross Winglovitz, Principal Engineer
with Engineering and Surveying
Properties, P.C, said the site has space for
37 truck loading docks on the east side
of the building, however the applicant
is unsure if he will build the maximum
docks available.
The building will sit on the western
portion of the site, while the eastern
portion will remain as federal wetlands.
Winglovtiz said the applicant has not
identified an end user at this point.
Vehicular access to the site will be

pursue
annexation
of Amthor
property
By TED REMSNYDER
The Walden Village Board and the
Town of Montgomery Board came
together last Tuesday night in Walden
prior to the Village Board’s regularly
scheduled meeting to discuss the possible
annexation of the Amthor property
on Route 52 into the village. The joint
meeting saw both boards gather on a
crowded dais to discuss the matter, and at
the end of the session both boards voted
to close the public hearing on the issue.
Each board now has 90 days to sign off
on the annexation for the measure to go
through.
Montgomery Supervisor Rodney
Winchell noted during the meeting that
the annexation could be beneficial for
both parties. “What is good for the village
is also good for the town, and what’s
good for the town is also good for all of
our villages,” he said. The East End Bus
Lines company is now operating out of
the historic site, and the property owners
