4 Wallkill Valley Times, Wednesday, August 23, 2017 Maybrook man pleads guilty to sexual assault of a five year-old girl A Maybrook man pleaded guilty last week in Orange County Court to sexually assaulting a 5-year-old girl. Gilberto Loza, 27, pleaded guilty in front of Judge Nicholas De Rosa to first-degree criminal sexual act, a felony. He was arrested on July 20 by Town of Montgomery Police. He was charged with predatory sexual assault against a child, course of sexual conduct against a child 1st degree, criminal sex act 1st and forcible touching. Under a plea deal negotiated between Loza’s lawyer, Dennis McCormick of the Legal Aid Society of Orange County, and Senior Assistant District Attorney Michael Milza, Loza’s sentence will be 12 years in prison, plus 10 years of post-release supervision by parole. Loza remains in Orange County Jail, where he has been held without bail since his arrest. He will be sentenced on Oct. 3.
