Town promises a fix for broken street lights
In the midst of a period of increased
agitation by local residents concerning
a string of broken street lights in
Montgomery, town officials revealed this
week that the problem is on the verge of
being remedied. A bank of lights near the
crucial intersection of Interstate 84 and
State Route 208 in the town has been out
for months, much to the consternation of
motorists and Maybrook Mayor Dennis

seeking Shawangunk support

Carnival Day in Montgomery
The Town of Shawangunk seems to
be the ideal location for a large-scale bed
and breakfast that could draw scores of
tourists in search of
a relaxing vacation
in a bucolic setting.
When the Town
Board passed a
local law on April
7th to amend the
town’s zoning laws
to allow for two new
types of overnight
establishments
in
Shawangunk,
a large part of
the appeal was
a proposed new
project from the
owners of
the

Located across
the street from that
acclaimed
fourroom bed and breakfast, the proprietors
of Audrey’s hoped to establish The
Greenhouses Hotel on a 5.6-acre plot on
2187 Bruynswick Road. The proposed bed
and breakfast would include 14 guest
rooms, a restaurant/bar and a conference
center. The local law that the board
passed in the spring included a category
