While it may have taken longer than many locals hoped, the Montgomery Continued on page 3 Cursory review Greenhouse Hotel developer seeking Shawangunk support By TED REMSNYDER Carnival Day in Montgomery The Town of Shawangunk seems to be the ideal location for a large-scale bed and breakfast that could draw scores of tourists in search of a relaxing vacation in a bucolic setting. When the Town Board passed a local law on April 7th to amend the town’s zoning laws to allow for two new types of overnight establishments in Shawangunk, a large part of the appeal was a proposed new project from the owners of the MARK WATKINS successful Audrey’s PLANNING BOARD Farmhouse. CHAIRMAN Located across the street from that acclaimed fourroom bed and breakfast, the proprietors of Audrey’s hoped to establish The Greenhouses Hotel on a 5.6-acre plot on 2187 Bruynswick Road. The proposed bed and breakfast would include 14 guest rooms, a restaurant/bar and a conference center.
