Walden hosts its 9th Saint Baldrick’s Day to fight cancer

ancer patients demonstrate extreme
courage and determination to fight
the dreaded disease on an everyday basis, and local residents showed
their solidarity with those fighting the
illness
by making a small sacrifice of
their own over the weekend. Dozens of
generous individuals of all ages lined up
to get their heads shaved Saturday afternoon at the 9th annual Hudson Valley St.
Baldrick’s event at the Walden Firehouse.
The outing, which featured Irish dancers,
a tricky tray raffle table, a before-andafter photo booth for those getting a buzz
cut and a buffet of food donated by local
restaurants, raised an estimated $45,000
for children’s cancer research and patient
support.
