Direct Edge plans third series of enhancements for EdgeRisk

irect Edge is planning a new series of enhancements for its EdgeRisk suite of services to go beyond the latest addition of EdgeRisk Ports, according to executives who spoke to WSL. EdgeRisk is a collection of risk capabilities for risk mitigation and software testing. Bryan Harkins, chief operating officer, said upcoming enhancements will focus on mitigating access risk and were initiated after a series of internal reviews and will respond to client demand and upcoming regulations. Additions will be announced in one or two months, according to Harkins. It will be the last significant addition to the EdgeRisk Suite, he added, after which the bulk of development work will be aimed at building out functionality within the three product lines that form the suite. Updates to the platform will not be scheduled, instead being proactive and reactive as necessary, Harkins noted, declining to elaborate further. EdgeRisk Ports is a testing environment that provides access
to the market via ports that only accept test symbols, according to Harkins. The service provides real-time access to the live production environment on both EGDA and EDGX and only allows entry of industry-standard test symbols, Harkins explained. Members can choose to designate BRYAN HARKINS one of their five free ports for testing, or add an additional one for a fee,, according Direct Edge to Kevin Carrai, head of connectivity and member services.
