of the Axioma Risk functionality will
be in OTC securities and derivatives,”
Zaks said. “The financial institutions
seem set to start introducing more
exotic derivatives and structured
products into their books; we’ll keep a
close eye on that space too.”
The vendor’s business focus is on
optimizing communication and risk
for asset managers, but the firm also
provides infrastructure for hedge and
pension funds, according to Zaks.
“Axioma Risk is applicable to both
types of investors…allowing for a
customization of risk horizons and
the ability to change modeling assumptions,” said Zaks.
The platform also manages the communications issues that can arise when
it comes to processing models used to
identify risk between portfolio managers and risk officers, Zaks noted.
The release of Axioma Risk follows
demand from clients for a capability
endowed to process various types of
risk, noted Zaks. “We were gently
nudged by clients to get into the
multi-asset class space,” he added.
