WHOA Fall Classic October 8 , 2022 • Gallatin , Tennessee

A glorious , fantastic , wonderful fall day for a great horse show . These old historical county fairgrounds are still beautiful in addition to being filled with interesting historical facts . It was with great sadness that we learned this may very well be the last equine event === or any event == held at the Sumner County Fairgrounds . This facility is a privately owned one and the owners are saying the are ready to sell . If you showed today you might be a part of history as the last of the equines too win at Sumner County !
The center ring was a beautiful fall scene with gorgeous mums , different varieties of pumpkins sitting on bales of hay around cornstalks all arranged by the talented Bonnie Carrier . Not only did Bonnie decorate the center ring but she cooked
THE BEST chili for staff . Many , many thanks ! Chip and Bonnie Carrier are due a huge thank you as they clean the fairgrounds prior to the show — pick up the trash after the show — -run “ our ” errands all during the show and in general make this show possible . What in the world would we do without volunteers ? WHOA simply could not function without our many volunteers ! A new volunteer , and one for which I was so thankful was Kathy Granus ! Kathy handed out ribbons while I took pictures saving me many a step and enabling the horses to go back in a timely fashion to the DQP thus keeping Sissi out of trouble .
Jeff Heuer of Cape Girardeau Missouri did an excellent job as judge . Hope to work with him again .
The WHOA staff traveled to the grounds and did their usual competent job for which we are truly grateful . Boss dude announced in spite of a hoarse throat and the antiqued sound system he sounded great !
We were light in entries but heavy in quality . Really nice horses competed which gave Judge Heuer a chance to display his skills ! Starting the winning for the day was Kimberly White with her gorgeous weanling . Lovely presentation . The show continued all day with beautiful entries . The exhibitors appeared to be enjoying this show and glorious day to the fullest . IF this was the last ever for the historical Sumner County Fairgrounds it was a great one . Thanks to all who participated .
