The first class saw nine talented walking horses come thru the gate and the show was on ! The number of entries for the night will have the judges earning their pay ! Speaking of number of entries — -tomorrow night THE MAIDEN CLASS has 44 entries making for a 3 way split . The class is already the talk of the show . The crowd is eager to see these unshown two-year-old Trail Pleasure Horses
Jason Crawhorn , winner of the Country Pleasure Two-Year-Old Western Class graciously tipped his hat to the crowd as they cheered their approval of his placing . It
reminded me of the days gone by when all the gentlemen acknowledge their wins by tipping their hats ( hint hint ).
The All Day Pleasure classes are packed . Awesome . Not to be out numbered here come the Country Pleasure with just as many entries ! The horses are awesome — -with from 10 to 24 horses — -all NICE . It is a difficult decision for the judges and in many classes any of the top3 to 5 winners could have walked out with the top ribbon .
The youth riders did a terrific job of cantering in the TWHBEA Medallio Flat Shod Canter Class . Adults , watch out as the youth are maturing and will be stiff competition in your canter classes . Thinking of our youth although participation was light in most of the 4 H classes the others , including the versatility classes , have been well filled . WHOA started several years ago to give ribbons to “ First Time Exhibitors ”. This gives these riders whether young or old , a chance to receive a lovely reminder of their first International experience . In one youth class I presented SIX first time to ever show at the International ribbons . I usually ask these exhibitors why they came to the International , the answers are varied and interesting but almost always the youth will say “ I heard how much fun this show was and I
