WHOA Dispatch WHOA Hosts Judges and DQP Clinics Rhonda Martocci and Tommy Hall instructing participants at the judges clinic. WHOA hosted a Judge’s Clinic plus a DQP Clinic March 5th at the MTSU Livestock Arena in Mur- freesboro. The Judges clinic was both a refresher course and a chance for new Judges to learn the rules and test their newly acquired skills or to bone up on their already acquired skills. Fourteen attended the Judges Clinic which was conducted by Rhonda Martocci and Tommy Hall. A perk to this clinic is that the ap- prentice judges can then apply their skills as they judge the horse show that immediately follows the clinic. The USDA/WHOA DQP clinic was held simultaneously with the Judges Clinic. The DQP Clinic was in the warm up ring. The four- teen hour USDA DQP Clinic was conducted by the ever competent Terry Martin. VMO Melissa Carl- son, representing the USDA, was on hand to oversee the activities. The fourteen hour USDA Clinic is a mandatory course each year ten hours were conducted on Friday with the remaining four hours held Saturday. Nine persons were present to learn about the intrica- cies of the DQP system. This was a clinic for new DQPs plus a refresh- er course for the already licensed DQPs. WHOA hosted the 2 clinics so the the participants could have hands on experience at a “real” show. Great idea and very convenient. Terry Martin instructing at the WHOA DQP Clinic.
