gate and we are not done for the night. Bring ‘em on .
Personally I am shooting for 1700 for the total for the
show.
SATURDAY Last day/night. Relief plus sadness at the
thought of not seeing far away friends for another year.
Everyone just seems to love the friendly atmosphere
of the International. I swear it’s like the biggest family
reunion EVER!!!
Starting the show off were the youngsters on stick
horses. A rowdy little group which will require addition-
al training before their under saddle days but cute as
buttons.
Then came the Lead Line Class, again a class filled
with cute determined young riders several of which
were outfitted to match their leaders. This class is al-
ways a tuffy. The stick horse and lead line riders get gold
dollars supplied by the Vice Gernt family. All the entries
had a large time.
Kevin Marker and Living The Dream carried the
beeeeuteeeful horseshoe home for Mrs. Anne Johnson.
This mare wass spot on carrying Kevin, Mrs. Anne and
the young and talented Brady Bachert to several blues.
Kyle Elliot, still smiling from his prestigious Maiden
win, piloted Belle Canto to the Lite Shod Championship
for Brandi Atkins.
A big thank you to the trainers that “helped” with
the reserve neck ribbon attachment. Bub, Charlie, Kyle,
Jessica, David are a few that helped even when it wasn’t
their horse. Thanks we appreciate your help!
Speaking of help, River Sims was a great help not only
at the WHOA Dog Show but at other shows this year.
A very mannerly young man, it is a pleasure to have
him around to help with the ribbons and any other task
asked. Thanks River for the help---- sorry I had to dock
your pay,
The Spotted Horses were a colorful addition. This
year several were shown and the ribbons were distrib-
uted to several different barns. One night the trainer

might make the best ride, the next night a youth or am-
ateur might shine. Interesting to watch how the horses
responded to the different riders. This is also true in the
solid events.
Peggy Moore, WHOA Board member and support-
er, offered a lucrative incentive to the trainer having
the most entries in Championship classes. Hopefully
this will encourage folks to show in the Championship
classes. This year we did have more to show in Champi-
onship Classes so a big thanks to Peggy. This award was
earned by Joe Lester.
The International offered many racking classes this
year and they were filled with excellent horses. Always
good to see how the horses from different states go and
react to the cheers of the spectators. Ellis Stables made
their presence known as did the MacGregor entries
whether in youth, amateur or open classes. The crowd
loved these high stepping entries.
Jennifer Batts ihad an excellent International with her
home grown, home trained, much loved horses.
Patti Pollack and Snapchat are another pair that were
clicking on all cylinders! WOW!
The Pollack sisters came with winning on their minds
and each deservingly won a gorgeous set of flowers that
coordinated with their lovely riding attire
Sherry was victorious on She’s Never Been Kissed!
Random thoughts that I want to share. If you did
not visit the mezzanine area and check out the vendors
you missed out. Jewelry, Ritzy Nails (of the finger nail
variety), American Insurance and Patti Pollack’s Bling
Tie were really interesting. The saddles alone were worth
the ride up in the elevator. Holy moly what an array of
beauty. I certainly hope we see them next year. I was
eager to get my nails “done” but just never got the time!
WHOA tries so hard to accommodate our exhibitors.
Classes added to encourage our youth riders, first time
riders, novice riders, novice horses, we tried to have
something for everyone. Maybe this is why WHOA
