41st International Pleasure & Colt Grand Championships July 26 - August 3 • Murfreesboro, Tennessee The 41st International started out with two full days of Dressage! Friday was all day English Dressage. Exhibi- tors were very vocal in their enthusiastic approval of the decision to split the Dressage Division into two days with Traditional Dressage being first with 51 entries and Western Dressage second on Saturday with 62 entries. Since entries in Dressage nearly doubled AND staff was not as tired it was a wise move. Scot MacGregor abroad D.A. McGovern’s Jose’s One Liner received the Traditional High Score for the day. Many western attired teams entered the ring to compete in the Western Division of Dressage. I must mention that on both days entries were prompt to enter the ring and all were courteous to the paddock master(me)which was highly appreciated. Western High Score went to Roey Mobley riding My Stormy Morning for Carol Myers. Grace Gregory judged the Traditional Division and Cindy Butler, Western Dressage Association of America President and our Western Dressage judge, were both very complimentary in the presentation of our Tennessee Walking Horses. The Judges said our breed had vastly improved since they saw them last. Both were extremely pleased to see the improvement of both horses and riders. On Sunday, a cool sunny morning and lots of versatile horses started the morning off right after a round of complimentary donuts and coffee. Charlie Howard was once again the early risers most welcome sight, driving the coffee wagon sponsored by Mark Taylor and David Pruett. Charlie very graciously gets up each morning and drives around the camper spots AND the stables with free coffee, juice and the wonderful WHOA donuts!!! How neat is that??? I know of no other show that cares about their exhibitors like WHOA. A huge thank you to the sponsors of this wonderful treat! Trail class after trail class filled the early session. Before the Trail classes can begin The Crew must rise and shine 12 • Walking On
