2019 WHOA Service Horse School You are invited to the 2019 WHOA Service Horse School sponsored by the Walking Horse Owner’s Associa- tion. If you are interested in using your horse in the service of others this school is designed to help you achieve that goal. The instructors conducting classes have many years of personal experience and are willing to share their knowledge. We will be conducting this years’ Service Horse School at the Williamson County Ag. Expo out- door covered arena. Date:  June 12th thru June 16th 2019 (Wednesday June 12th is registration and move in day.) Classes start Thursday the 13th at 08w00 hrs. Location:  Williamson County Ag. Expo Park • 4215 Long Lane • Franklin, TN 37064 www.agexpopark@info  Registration: $100.00. (If you are a current W.H.O.A member, registration is $75.00. WHOA membership will guaran tee you are notified of all Service Horse activities and there are numerous benefits and other horse related activities.) Stall fee: $10.00 for entire week Shavings will be provided for an addition $6.00 per bag. Camping: $15.00 per day (Includes electrical and water hook ups.) Curriculum:   Formation riding,  obstacle riding,  de-spooking,  current trends in working events, dignitary protection, vehicle escort, Crowd Management, self-defense from horseback, emergency first aid for horse injuries, and packing for a search and rescue.  There will be an obstacle course competi tion, partner obstacle course competition formation group competition, and a patrol gait class at the end. Instructors:  Retired Mounted Patrol Sergeant J.D. Harber and Retired Mounted Patrol Sergeant Terry Palmer. Retired Mounted Patrol Lt. Richard Verbosky. Lawrence Beal director of the County Mounties search and rescue, and Retired Tennessee State Park Ranger Kenny Daniel. Other instructors will be announced at a later date. (Please remember to fill out completely and print or type clearly so my 63 year old eyes can read it.) Again please fill out completely (I know most of you personally but sometimes I have people helping that don’t). You will receive a confirmation if you are accepted for this school. Send no money. The arena will be open for free ride to get your horses accustomed to everything. Classes start June 13th, 14th, 15th,and 16th at 8am. Sunday will be competitions all day. If you want to come for competition day only and compete call me or email me and we can work it out. If you can’t be here for the whole time call me and I’ll work it out.
