Germantown Char The 69th edition of the Germantown Charity Horse Show was held June 6-10, 2017. One of the most prestigious multi-breed shows in the country, Germantown is designated as a “Heritage Competition” by the United States Equestrian Federation. The show’s schedule features classes for American Saddlebreds, Paso Finos, Gypsy Vanners, Tennessee Walking Horses, and Racking Horses. The show also shines a spotlight on carriage driving classes as well as its renowned Grand Prix Jumping competition. Judges for this year’s event included Lance Meisenheimer of Jonesboro, Illinois, who judged the racking classes and Dee Dee Sale of Lewisburg, Tennessee, who judged the walking schedule. New this year to the walking classes was the $5,000 Marilyn Lubin Memorial Walking Horse Team Riding Competition. In this class two riders teamed up to show one horse that had qualified in a class earlier in the week. Taking first in this inaugural event was Side Lined, ridden by owner Kyndra Myers and trainer Joe Lester. Full results from the Tennessee Walking Horse and Racking Horse classes can be found in our Show Results column. All photos © 14 • Walking On
