rop Therapy to support health and performance A sore-backed lesson horse at Asbury University getting his first sniff of an essential oil during raindrop. By the next day, he was much happier carrying riders and no longer pinning his ears and trying to bite during tacking. Horse 2: This little quarter horse mare was rescued out of a terrible situation in a breeding barn in NY state. In the three weeks since her rescue, she had already gained 100 lbs, and needed to gain 100 more. She was totally out of alignment in her hind end and it was suspected that she had been bred and given birth very young, mis-aligning her hips. She stood with both rear fetlocks on the ground and neither hind foot was actually contacting the ground. She could barely walk. She had been dewormed as soon as she was rescued, but had not been given any more dewormer for 2 ½ weeks. We spent about an hour with this little mare, gently administering oils to her feet, legs, and spine. By the we had finished, her hips had leveled and she was standing on both hind feet and was walking much better. I cannot explain it, and I cannot claim that the oils had anything to do with it, but it was quite an amazing turnaround. The next morning, her owner reported dead parasites in her stool. Within 2 months of receiving regular raindrops from her owner, this little mare was work- ing under saddle. Horse 3: I taught raindrop technique to a friend who owns an eventing and lesson barn, in Lexington, KY. She loves using it on the lesson horses to keep them happy with beginners bouncing on them all the time. It is great for spine support. She has a pony who becomes rather plump in the summer. She messaged me that this little guy had been foundering for 5 days. She had done all she could think of with icing, soaking, and was considering putting him down. She wondered if she should try raindrop and I heartily agreed. The next morning, she messaged me again to tell me her pony was completely back to normal. The most important part of the technique is using the right oils, because it is not so much the strokes used, as it is the type of oils used and the order they are used in. It is extremely important to use oils that come from verifiable sources so you know they are pure, safe and effective. Raindrop technique will not work with most health food store, or internet pur- chased oils. Because they are regulated as a cosmet- ic, the FDA says that an essential oil can be labeled “pure, therapeutic grade” with only 5-10% actual essential oil in the bottle, and no other ingredients need to be listed! Many oil supply companies simply buy from another source and rebottle the oils. 9
