WHOA Versatility Show Murfreesboro, Tennessee • October 22 Story by Sis Osborne, Photos by Lori Finch & Sis Osborne MacGregor’s Stable hosted a ter- rific WHOA Show Sunday, October 22. Things got a bit dicey when Mother Nature decided to blow us away. She picked the center ring tent up and blew it around the ring causing horses to “perk up” and some to “spook”, Good riding, Mar- tha Child kept Locked In Gold on the ground (well mostly) and rode out the wind storm. After the tent was gathered up and deposited out- side the ring the class resumed with Martha and Locked In Gold walk- ing away with one of their several blues of the day. All nine entries in this excellent class made excellent shows in the adverse conditions. Marilyn Carter made the drive from Scottsboro, Kentucky with her two nice horses to win several blue ribbons thus celebrating her birth- day in blue ribbon style. Happy Birthday pretty lady!!!! Marilyn is always turned out to perfection and takes “casual” dress to new heights. The trail course was intricate and well-designed thus challenging the entries. Victory Trip and Dan Starnes, PhD made it look easy as they didn’t have a fault to win the class. It was good to see Charlie Moore walking away with the Trail Plea- 1 2 4 5 sure Two and Three-Year-Old blue ribbon aboard Ken In Command for Charlene Cook, DVM.  Very nice combination! Allison Thorson put some very good combinations of natural walking horses and young riders in the ring.  They did well and were smiling and enjoying their rides. It was wonderful  to see young folks having a good time with their horses and their families all out to support them. That is what this is all about ---having family fun with our walking horses. 3 1 - After her last youth class, Shelby Finch is surrounded by her mentors Larry and Linda Starnes and Carolyn and Vic Gernt.  2 - Martha Child and trainer Marilynne MacLeod with Locked In Gold. 3 - Owner Maria Redmond with After Party and MacKenzie Morgan. 6 7 4 - Maggie Moore and Jim Leek with the good walking The Roan Ranger. 5 - Hosts Scott and Lynn MacGregor. 6 - Ribbon girl Brianna Colander at the show just a swangin’. 7 - Dr. Dan Starnes and Victory Trip making the trail course look easy. 18 • Walking On
