WHOA Show • Shelbyville, Tennessee • Feb. 27
The WHOA Schooling and
Academy Show held on the beautiful Clearview Horse Farm grounds
certainly started the show season off
with a flourish! Clearview, located in
Shelbyville Tennessee is a great place
to host a winter show since they are
equipped with an inside ring and
warm up space. You can contact
Clearview Farm for more information on what this horse farm has to
offer at 1-931-684-8822.
Tennessee had been experiencing
very cold wet weather for at least
two weeks prior to the Schooling
Show and I was very doubtful that
horses would turn out to show.
HOWEVER 143 entries representing 15 states came thru the entry
gate to compete on a clear, sunny
but chilly day to prove me wrong,
AGAIN. Judge Eli Murphy had his
work cut out for him, but he rose to
the occasion very admirably
It was great to see the Roby family
from Avalton, Kentucky showing in
Tennessee. I am used to seeing this
family show their talented Tennessee Walking Horses at the Kentucky
Incentive Shows but this was a first
for them to travel to Tennessee and
they did very well taking top ribbons back to Kentucky with several
new young horses. Then I was con-
fused (not hard for me to be) when I
thought I saw The Milkman (previously owned by the Roby family
and usually with Jessalynn winning
the blue ribbons) enter the ring with
Rebecca Jackson Bonnick aboard. It
really was The Milkman who now
lives in Mobile with his stablemate
No Tango Dinero and is now trained
by Jennie Jackson for new owner,
Tammy Kimbrell. Both horses won
top ribbons for their new owner.
Very nice start to the new show
season and good to see Jennie back
in the show rng.
Also starting out the show season
with a blue ribbon was the good
walking team consisting of My Sophia and Emily Cotten. This combo
will be a winning threat in the youth
division.
The young horses presented at
this show were simply awesome and
promise us a season of tough competition. The older horses showed
that a winter of rest and light work
had been a benefit to them as well.
Several of the older horses had
changed ownerships, some had
changed trainers but all were in top
form and really made it very tough
to decide who should be awarded
the blue. Several classes could have
gone two or three ways the compe-
tition was so close. Very exciting to
start the WHOA Show season on
such a high note. THANK YOU to
all who brought a horse to show.
YOU made this our first show of the
season a rounding success.
