Board of Directors Election Results
2016 President: Dee Dee Miller Sale - Tennessee
The Walking Horse Owners’ Association is proud to announce the following candidates were elected to the
WHOA Board of Directors by the WHOA Membership.

Jason Bachert - Missouri
Martha Child - Tennessee
Carole Hill - Tennessee
Dennis Hills - Missouri

Maggie Moore - Tennessee
Nancy O’Dell Plunkett - Oregon
David Pruett - Tennessee
Mark Taylor - Tennessee

These eight will serve a three year tearn. The WHOA Board of Directors is made up of 26 members.

Lead Me On Fund Established
On the evening of November 29, 2015 Carla Hurley,
owner of Lead Me On Farm, received the call every
barn owner fears. Carla’s barn, which she owned for 21
years, was tragically engulfed in flames. Carla Hurley,
at Lead Me On Farm, specializes in breaking colts
which meant most of the horses in the barn were three
and under.
Carla lost eleven horses that night. Horses such as
Lightning Strikes Twice, On In One, Oops Peek A Boo
and Dreams Little Dream. Many had already been
crowned World Grand Champion in recent “model

and halter division” events. There is no amount of
money that can take away the pain Carla experienced
but what we can do is help her rebuild and start over.
