Southern Strides Summer Versatility Show,
June 27, 2015 Conyers, GA
Southern Strides is a newly formed organization whose
goal is to promote the flat shod Tennessee Walking Horse
in Georgia and the southeast. Our goal is to establish a flat
shod show circuit where families can enjoy their horses,
showcase the versatility of the Tennessee Walking Horse
and provide educational opportunities for our members.
All of our shows are affiliated with Walking Horse Owner’s
Association (WHOA) and include traditional rail and versatility classes. Southern Strides is sponsoring four shows in
Georgia for 2015, as well as several educational clinics.
Southern Strides participants can accrue points toward
Walking Horse Owner’s Association (WHOA) high points
program if they are a member of WHOA and can also accrue points toward the Southern Strides high-point awards
program if they are a member of Southern Strides.
In addition to establishing a show circuit, we provide
opportunities for our members to learn more about Tennessee Walking Horses and horses in general through clinics,
demonstrations, schooling shows and other means. Special
areas of focus for 2015 are youth and versatility programs.
On June 27th, 2015 Southern Strides held its second
Versatility horse show at the beautiful Georgia International
Horse Park in Conyers, GA. This show was well-attended
with participants from Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina
and North Carolina. We are very excited that participation
and interest is growing with each show!
There are two more shows and clinics scheduled for this
fall. Please check the Southern Strides website to learn
more about our organization and our show schedule: http://
