July 30, 2014, our industry lost
one of its greatest ambassadors
- Heaping Spoonful. An accomplished
show horse, he was the very first Lite Shod
World Grand Champion and a 16-time
world champion. The beloved equine
partner, friend, and teacher of Victoria
Martocci for many years, he spent his
show career under the tutelage of Wallace
Brandon Stables. Upon retirement he was
On
placed under the expert care of Bobby
Richards and when it was time for him to
be laid to rest he was returned to the former site of Wallace Brandon Stables, now
the location of Franklin Equine Services.
Foaled on October 1, 1983, Heaping
Spoonful was nearly 31 years old at the
time of his passing. By Mack K’s XLT and
out of Terry’s Gay Lady, he was bred by
James V. Jaquess of Cookville, Tennessee.
Prior to becoming part of the Martocci
family in 1991, he was owned by Laura
Brandon, Ross Stone, and Lloyd Murphy.
A truly memorable competitor, Heaping
Spoonful was always a crowd favorite He
will be missed by all who knew him but
he will live on in our many fond memories.
