ICP while maintaining a spread out formation and continuing our ‘Purposeful
Wandering’. As I approached a large juniper tree there was movement underneath. A hand waved and there was our
subject! He rolled up on his elbow and
indicated he was very glad to see someone. I radioed in “subject found”. Dennis
& Deanie helped direct both ATV’s and
a helicopter to our location. Within
minutes, the lost person was securely
packaged by several SAR volunteers for
his ride in the sky. All the horses were
superb about a helicopter landing merely
a 100 feet away.
The look on many tired faces said
more than words. This search had ended triumphantly! Everyone that came
and volunteered their time was a part of
the success. This grandmother got to be
horseback and play M*A*S*H!
