And lastly, you would probably ask me where should you go in Himachal to which I will answer where not! I have always been a mountain child, spending a majority of my childhood in the north-eastern parts of India and then in Kathmandu, Nepal. Somehow, Himachal is the abode of my favourite mountains. Especially because how each part of the state has an entirely different thing to offer. Most people start their initiation with a trip to Kasol with their friends, as did I; and knew for sure that I was going to come back again. Kasol and McLeod Ganj are probably some of the perfect places to start your tryst with Himachal. It gives you but a glimpse of what lies in store, if you would be interested to explore deeper. Excellent cafes, a few day hikes and some lesser known villages around them give you a taste that leaves you hungry for more. If you are looking to explore more of Parvati Valley, go higher from there to the quaint village of Tosh with a starry sky or the apple orchards of Kalga overlooking the whole valley. The trek to Kheerganga is another highlight of the valley and if you are lucky, you can get a glimpse of the Milky Way on a clear night. On that note, are you chasing the Milky Way like I was?
