VPHS
U16
Both these victories were achieved during away
matches. Despite suffering narrow losses against
Cillie, Newton Tech and Woodridge, the boys continued to play good rugby throughout the season.
Any of these fixtures could have gone either way.
The u/16 rugby team saved their best performance
for the last match of the season against Alexander
Road High. VP managed to beat Alex in a tightly
contested match, 5 – 0. This contest showed what
these boys are made of; they showed guts, character
and determination throughout.
It has been a remarkable year for both coach and
players. They enjoyed each other’s company through
good times and bad. It was an absolute pleasure to
coach these boys and I wish them well in their future endeavours on and off the rugby field.

the opening half of the season.
The boys started well by beating Westering High
in their opening match of the season 15 – 12 in an
away game. During the second match of the season, VP showed great skill by completely outplaying DF Malherbe on their home ground by scoring
4 converted tries to beat them 28 – 0. This was an
unexpected runaway victory since DF Malherbe has
